Candle Care
Your first burn is the most important, so make sure you have set aside 2-3 hours to enjoy your new candle. Pease allow your first burn to last 2-3 hours so that your candle can reach a full melt pool (when the wax is melted edge to edge). Soy has "memory", so if you do not get a full melt pool on the first burn your candle will tunnel.
Think of your candle like a baby, you need to love and take care of it. Trim your wick to 1/4 of an inch BEFORE each burn. You can do this by using a wick trimmer, if you do not own one, no problem! You can use your fingers to snap off the burnt area. This helps prevent soot build up. TIP: Turn you candle upside down when you trim it so that the burned wick part doesn't land in your candle.
You should never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time and never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep the candle away from children, pets and from flammable objects (curtains etc.). It is fire after all.
Never touch or move a hot candle, the jar gets hot!
Never extinguish your candle using water.
Stop using your candle when only 1/4 of an inch of wax is remaining to prevent the glass from overheating and shattering.
